The Keeneland Breeze is my favorite cocktail featured during the Keeneland race season! It’s so simple to make…and I’m really just getting into the “make your own” cocktail feature that it seemed like a perfect fit to start this weekly series!
What you’ll need:
- 1.5 ounces of bourbon (Maker’s Mark, Bulleit, or Woodford are all great for this cocktail)
- 1 splash of Triple Sec (or other Orange liqueur)
- Ginger Ale
- Orange garnish
I’m obsessed with these rocks glasses from Market 301 vendor, Southern Drawl Creations. I have multiple sets of their glasses (this racing set, a Thirsty Heart designed Lexington KY set, a Deer Antler set, a KY set, and KY wine glasses!) Just proceed with caution…they hold a lot of bourbon (or just keep pouring…no judgement!) and make your beverages taste better!
Fill your glass up with ice and drop in your 1.5 ounces of bourbon (ahhh…if only this were a scratch in sniff post…the small of bourbon is my favorite!)
Splash in the orange liqueur (or if you want measurements like me…about .25 of an ounce), top off with ginger ale, garnish with a juicy orange and enjoy!
A seriously refreshing, easy to craft up bourbon beverage that is perfect for tailgating at Keeneland or as your featured Derby cocktail (next to the traditional Mint Julep that I’ll feature next Friday, of course).
Thank you to Southern Drawl Creations for providing me with new rocks glasses for this post. Be sure to stop by and check out their booth at next month’s Market 301 (Friday, May 27th 6-10 PM @ Manchester Music Hall).
