Saturday’s Farmer’s Market

Saturday’s Farmer’s Market

Saturday morning, downtown Lexington, is one of my favorites because of the Lexington Farmer’s Market. It’s always full of people, local farmers, tables of local grown fruits and veggies, local food vendors, local artists, and young musicians. Sometimes I go to buy things (but let’s be honest…I don’t cook much so I usually just go for the experience).

The Lexington Farmer’s Market is downtown in the Cheapside Pavilion every Saturday morning from 7 AM-3 PM (April-November).

_DSC0314I love fall and all the fresh, crisp apples. I also love the experience of heading out to one of the Orchards…such as Reeds, Evans or Boyds…and picking a bag of apples to take home…but if that’s not your thing…you can pick up a bag here at the market. They will even let you sample the apples!

Pumpkins obviously make everything better. If you cannot make it out to one of the farms this fall to pick a pumpkin, why not come to the Farmer’s Market and grab one?

Local loaves of breads…note to self...don’t leave your loaf where your boxer can get it…it will be gone!

Fall is here! (sort of…)_DSC0322

La Petite Creperie whipping up crepes of the day! You can visit them at their brick and mortar down on Kentucky Avenue for the full menu! I highly recommend a sweet crepe on their patio! (nutella/banana/strawberry and cinnamon/brown sugar/pecans are my favs!)

Lexington Pasta is open at the Farmer’s Market on Saturdays!

I ended my Farmer’s Market trip with a grilled cheese on the patio of Parlay Social. Even thought I was flying solo, it’s always so easy to make new friends sitting around you enjoy these last few summer like fall days!
