Restaurant week starts tomorrow, Thursday, July 24th-Saturday, August 2nd so I thought I’d do a quick post on some of my personal recommendations to follow my personal “want to try” list that I posted on Instagram.
Get out there and try somewhere new that you’ve never eaten.I’d love to hear your favorites. Tag me on Instagram with @love_lexington and I’ll do some re-posting of your favorites!
$25 Pre-fix Menu Locations:
Alfalfa’s: (I’ve only had brunch here…service is ok but the food is always awesome!)
Belle Note: Meatloaf is Mr. Love, Lex favorite and mine is the ravioli (not featured on the pre-fix menu)
Bellini’s: Highly recommend the Lasagna.
County Club: The pork chop is amazing! (and I don’t even like pork chops!)
Enoteca: I love the meatballs and hear the bourbon chocolate figs are to die for!
The Jax: Appears to have lots of new items for this menu (I’ve only had the pork chop, the pot stickers, and beginets) so it would be great for a first time or regulars to try something new.
Le Deauville: The atmosphere here makes you feel like you are sitting in the streets of france (not that I’ve been…but it does feel like sitting in an open restaurant in NYC). Can’t go wrong with anything on this menu.
Minton’s @ 760: Hidden down on North Limestone between 7th and Bryan Ave is this little gem. I’d make a reservation if attempting to go for dinner! Everything I’ve had is stellar! Wish the hotbrown was on the pre-fix menu.
Sabio: Dined her for the first time last weekend and I was blown away. Everything was incredible. The chicken is on the pre-fix menu and it was what I featured on Instagram. If you are feeling like a steak…best filet in Lexington (however not on the pre-fix menu)!
School: Sushi, Sushi, Sushi. I don’ t really need to say another word. If you like sushi…get over to School! (by the Lowes on Richmond Rd.)
Suttons: This is my new favorite, close to home, go-to place. We get take out from here at least once a week.
Village Idiot: VI is always one of my favorite places. The menu is different from anything else you will get in Lexington. Lots of craft beers on hand (this owner also owns the Beer Trappe). If you order any dessert other than the bourbon bread pudding we may have to break off our friendship (it’s the best I’ve ever had!)
Wines on Vine: I love getting cheese plates here and would recommend the red wine cheese plate with a bottle of Scouts Honor. That is not on the menu…but worth trying. All the dishes I have had from here were great. If you can sit outside (and it’s not 100 degrees) then go for it. They usually have acoustic music out there which is nice for a romantic dinner with that someone special.
2 eat for $25
Clawdaddy’s: This is a steal. Go here and get the two lobster rolls (normally $18 each). You’ll be craving the rolls and willing to pay the $16-18 price point after that!
Doodles: My favorite breakfast spot (not on the menu) but the food is solid!
Jefferson Davis Inn: A little of a chain feel…but I still like this place. The pulled pork is perfect (traditional) and they have chicken and waffles if you are wanting to try them out!
Sheakespeare: Don’t forget there is a new Chinoe location open!
Smithtown Seafood: Catfish fried and battered or the Founder! Gosh this place is really good and located in West Sixth Brewery so you can try a beer too! (you can sit inside West Sixth and they will bring the food to you).
Stellas: Get a milkshake too!
Windy Corner: Take a beautiful drive out Bryan Station Rd to Windy Corner and get a shrimp, pork or catfish Po-Boy!
Here are some photos from some of my favorites for you:
Please note: All opinions above are that of my own and are not meant to devalue any restaurant listed on the restaurant week list. There are lots of great options that I have never tried and cannot wait to taste and lots listed that I love and eat at all the time. I will also always note if/when I have been compensated for a post.
