I’ve been ordering way too much clothing lately…literally it’s boxes daily (some things work…other don’t.) I think I’m just desperate for fall but the weather here in Alabama is still in the 80’s (in the 90’s as of last week). I really want to add flannels and sweaters to my closet but it’s really only time for transitional pieces. Longer sleeves, jeans, and booties! In an effort to cure my itch…I snatched up this Free People Tunic. It’s light enough to be worn on an 80 degree day even with long sleeves but yet still has loads of options on how to wear it into the fall and winter months.
This tunic is long enough for wearing alone (I’d still pair a Free People slip or “under shorts” for safe keeping…) but for a “night out” this tunic length is workable! Wear now with sandals…wear later with a big chunky cardi and thigh-high boots or even tights and lace-up combat boots.
This top pairs well with overalls (short and long). I love how accented the Bell Sleeves are when the body is tucked into the overalls. Adding a shoe…over a sandal…really balances out the look.
Paired with your favorite skinny jeans this look is simple and easy but still put-together. Comfortable and yet so on trend with the 70’s bell sleeve. I could see myself pairing it with my high-waist flares for an over the top 70’s vibe! Also pairing it with just black skinnies will work well to get me through the work week.
This rule of three is great (make sure your “new item” pairs with at least three things or can be worn three ways). I really should make an effort to do this more.
What’s your rule for buying new items? Just buy them? Or do you really think about what you already own that would pair well?
