I live for the weekends. Mostly because I love to brunch (…and my 9-5 prevents me from partaking in such pleasures on week days.) Sunday, in particular, is my favorite day to brunch. For me it’s all about taking it easy, hanging with friends, ordering a few mimosas (and not even feeling guilty about it), and devouring delicious breakfast food.
On this chilly Sunday morning we headed downtown for Sunday (Funday) Brunch.
First stop, Table Three Ten. (Only because Village Idiot was packed to the max with a 45 minute wait…thank you BBN for packing the house at VI…)
Since Table Three Ten doesn’t offer any other types of sweeteners I was forced to try sugar cubes in my coffee (the little brown ones). I probably put too much Splenda in my body anyhow…but I was in desperate need of a warm cup (bowl) of coffee so I figured heck…why not…
Guess what? It wasn’t horrible. Actually, it was quite tasty. Maybe I’ll grab some from my “at work” coffee too.
I’ve been dreaming of an amazing eggs benedict dish…specifically dreaming of The Jax “Eggs Benny” but since The Jax no longer an open…I shall never have that amazing brunch dish ever again (insert “waahhhh face”). Sadly, this was just “okay” (my toast was a little…well you can tell…burnt). I did dig the squash, charcuterie, poached egg pairing but it was sub-par at best.
Brunch is never complete without a little Sunday Funday Snapping. Don’t you love that 2nd snap chat filter? Can we all just look like that filter in real life?
I need to come up with an awesome “Brunch” t-shirt/sweatshirt idea. I think my cream thermal-tee looks kinda cool with “Brunch” on it? Or maybe a “Because Mimosas”??
Yes, it’s official…Mr. Love Lexington is a Lumber Sexual. There’s no denying it when he rocks his J.Crew buffalo plaid.
We devoured our food and decided we needed some Sunday cocktails (I just cannot pay $9 for a mimosa when there are all kinds of places around town offering way better deals).
Next stop, Arcadium.
My “new favorite” bar (it’s not new…just new to me) located across from North Lime Coffee and Donuts (on N. Limestone and 6th Street) in what used to be the old Spalding Donut building years back (ahhhh the memories of my childhood). If you are looking for somewhere to hangout, have quality drinks, and play some epic arcade games (Ms. PacMan is my personal fav) then Acradium is for you!
It’s not a Sunday Funday without mimosas….right?
If you are a bloody mary lover (I unfortunately am not) then you need to get over here stat.
Check this thing out! Topped with alligator meat, olives, charcuterie, cheeses, and a burger. Yes…you read that right...a burger (specifically a white castle burger). Maybe you’d prefer a chicken fingers? Don’t worry, they have that too. And the best part, you can load your stick with the goodies of your choice and this whole drink will only cost you $8.
We wasted away the hours, meeting new friends, watching the UK game, playing video games and most of all keeping warm!
