When I began brainstorming local Kentucky made, original gifts for this blog series, Thirsty Hearts Design was the first vendor to pop in my head. Not only do I adore the owner, Angie, but her paper good and hand letter signs are absolutely adorable and perfect for holiday gift giving. Her items are a go-to for those hard to buy for friends, co-workers, and even the family member that has everything!
The newest piece in her collection is the cedar bottle crate. Immediately, I knew that this handmade beauty would be the perfect carrier to accompany a craft beer lovers gift (with 5+ breweries here in town…we can all agree that Lexingtonians love their craft beer). You can fill it full of local favs like West Sixth’s Christmas Ale or stop by the Beer Trappe to put together a craft-beer-lovers-dream sampler pack and wahhh-la the gift now says so much more than “Hey, I bought you beer for Christmas…”
Another great idea…that I LOVE…especially if it’s for someone who is not from Kentucky…is to pack it full of our very own, locally made soda, Ale-8-One (seen here in my personal favorite…diet Ale-8).
And side of bourbon…because nothing goes better with Ale-8 than bourbon! Well…I take that back…a bag of Grippo’s also goes great with Ale-8 but that’s conversation for another day.
Thirsty Hearts Design is also the designer of the famous “Bluegrass” print (seen here in post card version), hand printed wooden signs for decorating your home (I have this “happily ever after” one hanging on my wall!), and 8×10 hand letter art prints (my favorite is this Milk and Cookies one).
The cedar bottle crate is a holiday, limited edition Thirsty Hearts design (once they are gone…they are gone!) If that perfect person has already popped into your head, that would love this handmade gift, I urge you to snatch it up while you can! Click here to order yours.
