Good-bye 2014

Good-bye 2014

I hope everyone has had an amazing Christmas. I love getting to see my family and stuff my face full of delicious foods. But now that it’s over…I’m can’t stop focusing on what I want 2015 to look like.

Who here makes resolutions??

Who here keeps up with them?

I really don’t know that I believe in making resolutions…(even though I have a 10 resolution deep notes tab on my iPhone) but I do like to set goals and write down the things I’d like to accomplish. I worked really hard in 2013-2014 to get fit. Learning to squat, deadlift and really focus on eating better. I do eat out a lot (no secret here) but I really focus on eating local (including local restaurants) and whole foods (meats, veggies), steer clear of preservatives, and cut back on sugar and diet soda. It’s hard….I’m not going to pretend it’s not. It’s so much easier to roll through McDonalds and grab a cheeseburger and fries at lunch than it is to make my lunch or swing into Smashing Tomato for a salad (I work in Hamburg so Smash Tom is a go-to for me!) It’s so much easier to stay in bed than get up and hit the gym at 5:45 AM (I struggle with this sooo much!)
This is something that is really important to me, so I have to start making time again (getting my butt out of bed) and really focus on treating my body well.

I’m not here to preach on resolutions…so set some goals that will make you a healthier and happier person. That’s all the really matters right?!

For 2015, I am working on getting back into my fitness routine (maybe add some yoga back in…it’s so good on my back!), learn how to use my new camera (whoo hoo…better Love Lex photos!), and to just live more simply (I major cleaned out my closet…I just can’t take the stuff and the mass amounts of it….and so much of it isn’t needed or used…I’m debating trying a minimal wardrobe like this one from this blogger, Un-Fancy).

I’d love to hear what you want to see on Love Lexington for 2015? Fashion, Food, Fitness? What are your personal goals for 2015? I’d love to hear them!

PS…I have zero clue what I am doing with this DSLR…but I did learn super bright sunshine is kinda hard to shoot certain things in (like the murals above…stupid shadow).
