Is it horrible that I did not attend any Derby parties this year?
I am a horrible Kentuckian. I really hate that I wasn’t better at making plans this year with all the great events going on in Louisville and the weather was so perfect. Next year, my goal is to attend the Pimento Cheese social (yummmm…) and attend Oaks. Who wants to come with me??
Enough about what I haven’t done, let’s talk about what I have done. In an effort to share more of what shopping local looks like, I am adding local fashion posts to the blog. I’ve partnered with a few of my favorite boutiques to show off their goods and today is the kick-off post!
Now that spring has decided to grace us with her presence, I’ve lathered up the self-tanner and we headed out for Sunday Funday. First for a little brunch as Sabio then off to “The Block” for a bourbon on Two Key’s patio.
My go-to Sunday Funday piece: Denim shorts.
In my opinion, you can never have enough cut-off jean shorts and I’m excited to add these Free People cut off’s (c/o Entwine) to my collection. I tend to overload on basics (tees, tanks, denim) but love adding in a fun piece like this Jack by BB Dakota kimono (c/o Entwine). I truly believe in splurging on the things that fit you well and will last forever (like denim, shoes, bags). Don’t splurge on things that will come and go, like a crop top. I scored this one at AE for under $20. While my Kimono leans more on the splurge end, I have put it to good use. It pairs well with jeans, shorts, tanks, tees and I’ve even paired it with black pants and a black tank for the work week.
How great would it look on vacation or at the pool with a black bikini too?!?!
Shop this look at Entwine, located in the Fayette Mall. Online store coming soon!
