Atea Salon.

Atea Salon.

The #1 frequently-asked, non-food related question I get asked is “Who does your hair?”

Now the struggle…do I keep my stylist all to myself…or do I share her with you guys?? You guys already know I’m going to share!

Miss Lydia Nemeth is my secret weapon and stylist responsible for my ahh-mazing ombre and lush lashes.

I could not be more excited to share this post and ask you to join me in celebrating! Lydia has opened a new salon, Atea (at 301 E. Vine Street) which offers the hottest trends like flamboyage, balayage, ombre, eyelash extensions and more!

Come on over and let’s check out the space.

Located in the former Lexington Visitor Center, turned Mix on Vine, and now soon to be renamed 301, Atea has settled right in and made herself at home.

With it’s industrial chic feel, Atea is open, airy and inviting. You will always greeted by a friendly face and can feel the energy and creativity that flows through these rafters!

I kind of wanna live in this space…but only if Lydia does my hair everyday. It literally is perfect!

Atea offers only the best in products, including my personal favorite, Davines. I swear by this line!

Lydia turned me onto the Oi | Absolute Beautifying line (shampoo, conditioner and milk oil) when she first started styling me (almost a year ago…see our first blow-out post here.) Oi from Davines helps keep my natural wavy, frizzy hair tame and manageable.

I know this chair all too well…having spent hours under it perfecting my layers upon, layers of lightening to achieve my ombre.

After two other failed attempts at an ombre from other stylists over the past few years, I agreed to let Lydia brighten me up and do something fun and different. Something way outside my comfort zone (which was blah-boring-straight-brown hair). My first round took almost three hours to treat and process to ensure my natural auburn hair didn’t turn orange or brassy.

The amount of time and care Lydia puts into my hair…ensuring that I have color and look that I’m happy with, is what keeps me coming back and loyal to her!

Side note…She’s going to hate me for posting this photo (below) but I love this girl and this photo!

And since she is my “secret weapon” it is only fitting! Sorry Lydia.
